Shifting Skies, PHD Exhibition Monash University 4-8 July, 2016

SHIFTING SKIES: a studio investigation into representations of the sky, atmosphere and weather.

This practice-led PHD research investigated representations of the sky in Western art to ascertain the effectiveness of the metaphorical use of atmosphere to convey notions of loss and transience due to climate change. The research focused on contemporary artists whose practice incorporates phenomenological philosophies, collaboration with science and issues of identity.
